My Grandma's Oatmeal Apricot Bars

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. oatmeal (regular or quick, doesn't matter)
3/4 c. butter
1 (12-oz) jar apricot preserves
1/2 c. dried apricots, chopped

Mix the first five ingredients, cutting butter into the rest until crumbly. Press 2/3 of this into a 9x12 pan. Stir dried apricots into preserves. Carefully spread over crumb mixture. (This is hard for me because the bottom is really crumbly and can get all messed up, but if you make several smallish blobs of the preserves and then kind of spread them so they meet it's easier.) Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely, then cut into squares.
